I haven't installed the PostScript-specific drivers for these printers, but I have set up a few LaserJet 4000 series printers on Server 2008 R2. For my server deployment, I loaded the PCL6 version of the HP Universal Print Driver (UPD) and got it working with minimal issues.

Download the latest driver, firmware, and software for your HP LaserJet 4100 Printer series. This is HP's official website to download drivers free of cost for your.
In your case, I'd try the PostScript version of HP's UPD and see if that does the trick. HP should have versions for both 32 and 64-bit architectures on the link above. The UPD gets updated pretty regularly, so you can be pretty confident that it is as compatible as it can possibly be.
Good luck!
Installation & troubleshooting notes
- To install the printer on PC or Laptop, you must know the model of the printer. Get that name from the back (or front) of the printer, it looks something like n2200 or l453 etc. Now you can check the model of your printer on this page.
- Also you have to check the operating system installed on your system or laptop. It is necessary for correct work of your printer. This is the most important part, as downloading the right files is the only way you can install the drivers. If you choose the wrong operating system, the driver will install but won’t work. To avoid this mess, confirm what operating system you are running. You can get that information from the system settings.
- Now download the driver
- Run the setup file to install the driver in the system.
- The setup may ask for the destination folder; in case it does, select a path or folder you can easily access for later use.
- Once it shows the “drivers installed successfully” message you can print the test page for confirmation from the same message window.
